A fun experimental device I recently built to test the possibility of using glass cylinders with noble gases as exotic light sources in my art. Mounted in the middle is a small High Voltage Transformer that produces many thousands of volts at a high frequency which is connected to the cylinders where the gas is excited to luminous plasma in different colors depending on what gas is in them. strange things happen when it is running and if you touch the copper construction that holds the protective glass dome, your fingers are tickled by electric current. That was not the plan and I don’t know why it happens as it is insulated from the live parts inside. It is not for sale as it is not to be considered safe. It is just a fun toy for myself!
