your average household appliance 2025. A sculpture in the form of a completely ordinary coffee machine that reflects my complicated relationship with modern technology. It is an expanded work based on the device on the left (Kondensor) that I built about a year ago and now it functions as the coffee machine’s energy source and heating unit. The coffee machine is excessively difficult to handle with difficult-to-interpret displays and far too many unnecessary functions and options. For example, it only works with a wifi compatible coffee cup that must have the latest software update. If you don’t have a compatible cup, there will be no coffee. AND IT’S YOUR FAULT NOT THE MACHINE! And as if that weren’t enough, it plays an annoying melody every time it does something like many of today’s household appliances. Like it somehow wants to feed on your frustration! As displays, I have used two glass goggles from an old Soviet era gas mask. The creation of the work is largely inspired by a silicon wally born overcomplicated juice press with a grotesquely high price tag, which went by the name Juicero Founded 2013 Defunct 2017
